The modern liberal arts college campus is a thought plantation, and "The Left" is its ideological default. When I was an impressionable college moron I didn't have any interest in politics, and when it was time for me to care (and vote) in the presidential election, I bought the simple campus lie that the 'Republicans were evil'. With politics--and history--settled, I could focus on my moronic college age dreams.
After I was red pilled I began to mine through the lies that I lived as a result of the lies that I was told. Only when I began this investigation did I understand the contextual dichotomy of the party ideologies. Now, the Left was evil, and not just because their economic ideology resulted in the deaths of millions in places like China, but because they had lied to me about it. It was personal.
"The Right" was a monolith, standing firmly and virtuously against the widespread cultural acceptance of the Left, and now I was voting across party lines in the other direction. The Left showed no signs of slightly decreasing its insatiable evil to accommodate potential swing voters, instead doubling down and moving "further left." The battle lines were drawn. Either you were with the left, or against the left.
Then, overnight, I noticed that my dear, sweet right began replacing its values by appealing to left leaning ideologues. ('How' and 'why' are another topic.) It was only a matter of time for the right to become as reprehensible as the left.
"The Far Right" entered the journalist's lexicon to describe "violent extremists." From experience I knew this to be a lie, but wondered what actually made "the far right" different from "the right?" Answer: Both "the left" and "the right" both move further in the opposite direction; the "far right" stays put.
What follows are two differing opinions from two respectable sources on the far right, and a bleak personal conclusion that only history itself can ascertain.
To paraphrase Steve Bannon:
"The Chinese people are not at fault [for the Covid-19 outbreak.] It is the evil Chinese Communist Party for lying. They act like a criminal organization and crush the spirit of the hardworking, good people of China. They don't just have blood on their hands, they have blood up to their necks."
To paraphrase Nick Fuentes:
"Yes, the Chinese government is evil. But they are a symptom of the culture of China. China has existed for 6,000 years. It is not just in the past 75 years that Communist China has been a brutal suppressor of freedom. The Chinese people want global hegemony. They are colonizers. They colonize Africa, they colonize US real estate, and we let them. The Chinese people may not control the government in China, but Chinese people still have the best interests of China in mind, to the detriment of other nations and peoples."
Can both Steve Bannon and Nick Fuentes be right? Can we blame the Chinese Government as well as the Chinese culture of the Chinese people for the global pandemic?
In short, yes.
Modern nations, and their governments, are made up of people with common ancestry, language and culture. (There is typically violence between populations within borders where this isn't the case.) Governments run downstream from culture, and the government of the United States is different than the government of China because our ancestry, language, and values are very different from China's. America believes in natural rights and freedom, while China believes in power and control at the cost of its people if necessary.
The American government became complacent after the collapse of the Soviet Union ended the Cold War, and for illogical reasons gave Communist China opportunities for a synthetic economic rise. China was eventually admitted to the World Trade Organization in 2001.
This trend continued, and a report by the Cato Institute from 2016 about China's Trade Practices at the WTO stated:
"China’s mercantilist state systematically discriminates against foreign products and foreign producers in China while forcing foreign companies to hand over their intellectual property (IP) as the price of access to China’s large and growing market."
This is just one example of China's "unfair" trade (mafia) tactics, but the "mercantilist state'' description stands out, indicating that China is playing by different rules. Isn't mercantilism the system that once nationalist Europe left behind in favor of 'capitalism/socialism?'

The American left and the American right might think they differ economically, but they are still reliant on American corporatism for their respective ideologies, both as a savior and a scapegoat.
For instance, the left generally doesn't want to empower corporate control over human labor and lives, but the right doesn't want the taxpayer to suffer by paying for "universal healthcare." The left wants to empower government control of healthcare through a socialist lens, and the right could meet them halfway through a fascist lens.
Both sides talk past one another, like these antithetical ideologies of fascism and socialism are options at all! American cogs don't realize that these are generalized, politicized talking points. The American founders designed a government for the states to decide such issues to explicitly avoid any unnecessary increase in government power. Unless we want to become more like Communist China by inching towards a fascist compromise this healthcare debate is not a national issue!
Unfortunately, corporate hegemony within America is existential. The left is wrong about using it to defeat it, and the right is wrong about colluding with it. (In reality both sides do both when convenient.)
America is doomed because of the confusion that results from the excessive freedoms from a democratic culture: freedom of thought, press, speech, religion begets oxymoronic 'freedom of rights': the right to healthcare, the right to abortion, the right of marriage. Freedom requires responsibility, and excessive freedom begets cultural leftism.
China has genetic knowledge that 'freedom is troublesome' for order. Fact. But China is morally wrong about her methods. Throughout her 6,000 year history, every Chinese government has known to keep their populations orderly. The population knows this too, and traditionally do what they are told. (At least on the mainland.) The USA could not be more different. In the past ten years, each president has seen a new rebel group: From the Tea Party, Occupy Wall Street to BLM to Proud Boys and Antifa.
The USA is a young country rebelling against itself in its inconsistent teenage years, and yet we are the dominant economic, political and military power in the world today. It is foolish to believe that 6,000 year old China and her vast experience is not envious, does not want that power, is not willing to take that power, and that the Chinese people are not complicit. After all, China is comprised of common Chinese people whose ancestors have always been under the yoke of some regime. Nothing in their DNA desires the freedoms that so confuses modern Americans. The Chinese government will use this confusion to seize control on behalf of the glory of China.
Modern America is needlessly confusing. Its politicians are untrustworthy ideologues/gainfully connected, its people a mixture of races and cultures and languages, its border porous, its criminal laws unenforced. We are a corporatist-individualist empire with a democratic veneer with a genetic rebellion for government and a brainwashed rebellion of culture. 'Resistance as a cultural right' is thanks to cultural leftism, which has infiltrated and influenced the youth for two generations, the mainstream media its influential mouthpiece.
Modern China is corporatist-nationalist with a communist veneer, a culture of traditional obedience and aspirations for empire. China purges the Uyghurs, an ethnic and religious minority. They purge the Catholic Church, Falun Gong, political enemies and enforce abortion. They do not tolerate homosexual behavior or any other modern Western cultural leftism. They therefore don't fall for European style colonial guilt or environmentalism. There is no way for a commoner Chinese to engage in politics, and both the government and the people aren't complaining.
Destruction follows in the wake of the left, and China was no different from Europe in this regard as millions died in China under Mao, for the "greater good" of China's future generations. As evil as this was, Mao was thinking waaaay ahead. Before Covid-19 annihilated their credibility, China was enjoying ripping off the world and holding a historic record for the time in which the living conditions of her people improved. But China knows what to keep (economically) and what to discard (culturally) for her nationalistic goals, and isn't going to dominate for 6,000 more years with bullshit leftist cultural ideology.
In this post-Covid world, open borders and immigration will doom nations to sickness in addition to dilution, followed by invasion. Nations will need to be as nationalistic as China--but not as authoritarian--to protect themselves from China.
My thumbnail prediction:
When states reopen for business and the economy slowly recovers, mouthpieces of the opposition party will blame Trump for not "acting fast enough." They will side with "our friends" in China that "gave us two months to prepare" for the outbreak....Bird Flu, SARS, Covid-19...these are not American viruses. The mainstream media needs to be bitch slapped.
It would come as no surprise if China used our freedoms against us by paying these mouthpieces to brainwash our people that already hate America's current leaders. Do the Chinese people think this is wrong? No. They don't think, or care, not just because they have different values or don't know anything their government does, but because what hurts America benefits Chinese dominance. It is natural. Meanwhile, Americans are ready to criticize their government for protecting her borders (and her people), march in parades for abortion "rights" and protest any pipeline that would make the lives of fellow citizens in remote areas better.
Want abortion rights asshole? Move to China.
China's state run media will blame others and lie to its people by omission. Morally wrong by objective standards, but correct to maintain order and build a strong and obedient nation. Machiavelli and Lao Tzu would be proud.
No matter my age or maturity, I will always be a cog in the American political machine even if I exercise my right to participate in government. I do not have money, connections, or political ambitions. That's ok. The purpose of America's founding wasn't for any schmuck to become Senator. That's missing the point.
The purpose of America's founding was to divide government into branches and municipalities to hinder it from controlling and defining human freedoms. Ironically due to this freedom our government--and now our culture--is slowly dissolving into corporate kingdoms. At least China's corporations work for China.
In a post-Covid world, as long as American battle lines are left vs right we will lose to China because China is ethnically coherent and nationalistic. America self divides politically, has a brainwashed populace and no common national ethnicity anymore.

everything else is a cult
Throughout history people have fit into three categories: slaves, slaveholders, and free men.
The Communist movements and subsequent revolutions of the 20th century were formed from an ideology based on a kernel of historical truth: the wealthy and powerful minority (bourgeoisie) exploit the poor and weak majority (proletariat). From this truth the Communists reasoned that the best way for the proletariat to escape oppression of the bourgeoisie was to seize control of the means of production in a violent revolution. They used this framework to destroy the exploiters with the intention of providing for the exploited what was withheld. The precedent of human nature proved itself repeatable; once seizing power the Communists quickly filled the vacuum with their own insidious organization. The Communist party was more vicious and unforgiving than the previous government! The exploited class was now at the mercy of their merciless new leaders, and one generation later made slaves by their new masters.
In similar fashion to today's America, there is a (political) emphasis on the physical slavery from the country's past, strategically used as a hyperbolic bludgeon with which one political party uses to beat the other. By claiming to act on behalf of this oppressed minority, the modern political party is guaranteed their support in a voting block. The party creates an ideology based around the true historical fact of slavery, and rallies the block to vote on the party's behalf. With the help of the voting block the party wins the election and the block believes--through the lens of the ideology supplied by the party--that their community will also benefit.
But the party is sinister, the adherents gullible. The party ideology is a empty box with pretty wrapping paper, a bow on top and a sandbag inside. The aim of the party's ideology is to train the block to accept emptiness as fullness, its lies as truth. The block does this because it trusts the party's talking points and media mouthpieces, all of which support its ideology. Without realizing it, the block is in mental servitude to the party. Mankind is wired to yearn for a meaning that politics is not meant to provide, and with their evil aims these cunning political leaders and develop their ideologies to filter divine morality into an agreeable, "modern" morality.
For politicians, claiming divinity is unnecessary for the sophisticated, secularized American masses they represent and can use vague calls to "a higher power" instead. Cunning leaders of large, traditional cults like Scientology and LDS operate outside of the mainstream in their own little kingdoms, and are therefore not beholden to the same secular rules that apply to public office. Cults offer completely created answers to man's wired questions of meaning and origin, and cult leaders combine the familiarity of God's word and place themselves at the center of worship. These leaders employ methods of persuasion to create intimate relationships with their members to keep them in a mode of obedience and self-exploitation. Although all modern Americans are promised freedom from (illegal) physical slavery, the law cannot protect our minds from enslavement by cults, ideologies and addiction to materials and substances.
These methods of mental enslavement are weapons in evil's arsenal for separating men from God, then replacing God with man. By evil's design this is accomplished invisibly as people accustomed to abundance don't realize that they are replacing God with an intense material obsession. They do not worship God as He desires, and opt for their possessions and desires instead. The world has endless, appealing material wonders and even "sophisticated" individuals can find themselves valuing material possessions over God and therefore in a cult.
Anything that replaces worship of the creator is slavery, especially if it is pleasurable.That is Satan's invisibility replacing God. By no fault of his own, mankind is susceptible to this slavery, and only obedience to God can save him.
I am using 'cult' loosely to make a point, and I am not saying that sports or desserts cannot be enjoyed. (Although cult churches and ideologies should be avoided.) They must be enjoyed in moderation and come after proper acknowledgement (worship) of God. If not, sports players become the center of attention and worship, the pleasure of alcohol, drugs, and games become an individual's driving force. Worse, a false version of God, either in material or supernatural form, becomes the version that we worship.
While not everyone has a calling to devote their professional lives in the service of God to help those less fortunate, everyone is expected to make little sacrifices in our worship. These little sacrifices ground us and remind us that the material world and material wealth is not everything. This frees us from the slavery of material possessions and from becoming enslaved by a mortal master persuader.
The less we acknowledge God, the easier it is to forget about God. Then we replace God with materials. Or false gods. When the finite material of our obsession runs out--as everything in our reality runs out in some way--or we realize the lies of our false gods, we re left with questions of origin, morality, meaning....

GoodReads > Twitter
Roman Roy of Succession 'predicted' Twitter with his usual expressive vocabulary:
Before I knew I was always bored I was hopelessly content with the tasty morsels of Twitter's timeline. Opening the app on my phone required even less effort than tapping and clicking, and browsing the timeline when bored soon meant browsing the timeline wherever phones are found: at work, in the elevator, in the bathroom, walking down the street, walking down the hall, hanging out with friends, in my spare time, in my bed, etc. etc. What could be easier and more immediately pleasurable upon waking than rolling over, grabbing my phone, opening Twitter and scrolling through the feed to consume the day's first morsels asap? It is like morsel mind breakfast in bed, but it is not wholesome like Chia Pudding, but a sugary death snack, like Sour Patch Kids Cereal.
I became bored everywhere by everything that was not the timeline. Was I bored by habit? Was I bored by life? And why was I oh-so-bored when there was oh-so-much content?
No need to avert an existential crisis, I knew the answer: life is not always thrilling. This is a fine fact. An excellent fact in fact. Thrills can become boring and before you know it, you are an adrenaline junkie. The timeline forgoes beginning, middle, and end in an attempt at the mind control that is endless 'entertainment.' It becomes easy to forget that life too eventually ends when trapped in the free-ness of the 'easy' hubs.
Twitter made me believe that it had indeed solved this unprecedented problem of 'boredom by too-much-content' by providing me with more content. But like heat my mind began to seep through the caulk of my Twitter habit. I was bored because I was consuming too much too fast. I took a break from all social media and then saw the code of The Matrix.
How can anyone be blamed for believing that 'more is better?' Look at our economy, our culture. The more that we can get for free, like media, the more informed and the better we think, we think. After all, if there is any informational limit imposed, it must be to limit ideas, and that is censorship, as unAmerican as totalitarianism. I self imposed.
Reading is the only medium that demands work (and thus why it is a declining past time). Everything else is passive absorption and can be left on in the background of a task in the foreground. Twitter found a way to make reading a passive absorption by condensing it into morsels and inserting would-be meaningful tweets besides unrelated and meaningless tweets on the timeline. Tweets are liked, retweeted and forgotten in this process. Our minds become overloaded with arrays of information. Of course there can be more substantial tweet threads (consisting of a series of cohesive, related tweets) but the time spent reading such a thread undoes Twitter's purpose of more more more more more more more
(Nobody uses Twitter uninterrupted long enough to read such a thread anyway, and if they do they are depressed or procrastinating.)
Some people think faster than others, and Twitter gives them the advantage. This is personally what turned me against Twitter, the inability to choose the frequency of appearance of some accounts on my timeline. Fast thinkers I found agreeable became a bother. I wanted space from their thoughts to think my own, without their devious input. More so, I wanted them to just please shut tf up already. You have hot takes all the time yeah, I get it, but I have limits of how much I want to hear them from you
I wanted to be bored by life like my ancestors. I wanted to escape said boredom in the substantial worlds that books built, not the simple, unsubstantial, inane and forgettable tweets that filled the never ending timeline. Being bored for the proper amounts of time was a good thing. It was like getting calluses from lifting weights. I began to appreciate longer form entertainment again--for the same reason I prefer to chew Sour Patch Kids than drink Coca-Cola--and used my mind to constructively criticize as part of a larger community.
Enter Goodreads. A GR user needs to be a reader of books longer than 200 characters to use the site well, and to appreciate the site they need to want to read--and write--responses longer than a few sentences. I recall that I used to like to read. I recall that I also used to like to think. I made the switch.
After tense (and sometimes intentionally boring) build up of plot in a novel I was rewarded with the release of action. In a different way it was much more rewarding than receiving an appalled reply from a snarky tweet I sent. I remembered that books are an intellectual art form, whereas tweets are a habit of distraction from the first second of uninterrupted boredom before the mind, by nature, begins to use itself.
Yes, there are book hoarders on GR, but the higher the stack becomes the more guilt the hoarder feels; they know the mental effort required to overcome the load is large. This is good. Seeing longer term projects through to the end is incredibly rewarding and worth the agony of their creation. Finishing a book is an accomplishment. Finishing a tweet is not.
If time permits everyone should put the social media down to read more books before they become this user on Goodreads, who finally has enough characters to say what he is feeling:

Seeing longer term projects through to the end is incredibly rewarding and worth the agony of their creation. Finishing a book is an accomplishment. Finishing a tweet is not.
If time permits everyone should put the social media down to read more books before they become this user on Goodreads, who finally has enough characters to say what he is feeling:
